Kellie Martin is an American film and television actress popular for her role in the roles of Christy Huddleston in the 'period drama' series "Christy The 'Christy'' series, Rebecca Thatcher in the family drama 'Life Goes On' and Lucy Knight in the medical drama "ER". In addition, she is famous for her role as the main character in her own Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Born to a department store owner and a kindergarten teacher, Martin began her acting career in the age of seven when her aunt, who worked as the nanny of actor Michael Landon's kids, assisted her in landing her a role in the 1982 series "Father Murphy". Martin began her professional acting career after graduating Yale University. This led to her landing a variety of parts in both the television and film industries. Martin is, in addition to being an excellent actress and dancer, is also an accomplished ballet photographer. Martin is the mother of two and the face of Lupus. After her 19 year old sister's passing Martin has been trying to raise awareness about Lupus and its symptoms.
